Recently, a customer asked to us to run a #penetrationtest to test a #webapplication. In under 2 hours, we finalized project scoping and matched the best-fitting #pentester to run the test. In less than 12 hours, we were able to perform the test and provide the crucial report.

The profit for #cybercriminals through #ransomware dropped significantly by 40% in 2022, as organizations start refusing to pay ransom. Possible explanations for this are stronger legal #regulations. Additionally, #cyberinsurances are tightening the admission and payout criteria.

In 2022, more than 100,000 jobs in #ITsecurity were unfilled in Germany – 52.8% more compared to 2021. The demand increased due to #cyberattacks at record levels and a growing awareness for #cybersecurity. Pay and positions are most important to fill #cybersecurityjobs.

#ChatGPT can have a considerable impact on #cybersecurity in the future, both positively and negatively. The #AI can create cost-free phishing emails with #malware, but could also provide excellent spam detection for calls or emails with relatively little training.

Yesterday the #BSI presented its annual #cybersecurity report for #Germany. Among other facts the paper includes the top #cyberthreats of 2022. For the #economy and state authorities #ransomware was the top threat. For the German #society it has been identity theft.
