The profit for #cybercriminals through #ransomware dropped significantly by 40% in 2022, as organizations start refusing to pay ransom. Possible explanations for this are stronger legal #regulations. Additionally, #cyberinsurances are tightening the admission and payout criteria.
In 2022, more than 100,000 jobs in #ITsecurity were unfilled in Germany – 52.8% more compared to 2021. The demand increased due to #cyberattacks at record levels and a growing awareness for #cybersecurity. Pay and positions are most important to fill #cybersecurityjobs.
#ChatGPT can have a considerable impact on #cybersecurity in the future, both positively and negatively. The #AI can create cost-free phishing emails with #malware, but could also provide excellent spam detection for calls or emails with relatively little training.
#Cyberattacks are the biggest business risk worldwide, according to a new Allianz Report. Companies are most concerned about #databreaches which will cost about €5 million in 2023, on average. Behind this #ransomware and the disruption of digital #supplychains are major threats.

The sector gets hit regularly by #ransomware attacks and pays the highest ransoms on average.
The new EU #cybersecurity framework #NIS2 expands the definition of #criticalinfrastructure. In addition, the new CER-Directive strengthens the providers’ #cyberresilience. The #EU tightens regulations for preventive measures, physical security, and #cyberincident recovery.
Researchers find a new #TrojanPuzzle attack that trains AI into proposing #maliciouscode. This #malware is highly dangerous since it passes undetected. Coders that utilise #AI and #machinelearning technologies such as #ChatGPT for coding could be at risk.
According to a #survey of corporate #cybersecurity professionals, large private corporations will suffer around 41% of all #cyberattacks in 2023. This makes them the most targeted sector by #hackers, exceeding even financial institutions (36%) and healthcare (9%).
